When you get off tour I think we should hang and black out together
home from tour, trying to take it one day at a time, and making so many recommendations
It has been a while since I have sent out one of these letters so I wanted to do so. Remind the people I do still exist on this digital island of complaining, updating, and struggling to tell my stories, however true those end up being (to you or me).
I have recently returned from my touring travels to the eastern united states, united kingdom, and europe. Jet lagged, cranky from recently giving up alcohol, and with a google sheets-shaped plate full of upcoming projects - I try to rest and still maintain a forward motion, even a slow and sometimes hesitant one. Performing music night after night is something I live for and have always lived for. It was my first love and will likely be the last one that I have. Dedicated musicians can only hope that their final moments will be spent actively doing the thing they’ve spent all of life trying to do.
I have little clarity following this recent string of dates. Usually, there is a bit more. Clarity or more of something. I feel empty, slightly numb but not depressed, yet, ha. Regardless - Thank you to all who attended the recent performances. Your support means the world to me. I am grateful to get to experience different countries, performance spaces, differing levels of professionalism (lol), see old friends, and make new memories so often. I love what I do and hope to do it for many more years.

Some things I would like to recommend:
Sally Ann McIntyre’s Dying World redux (field notebook for a failed nature documentary (for Andreas Reischek)) via RADIOKUNST
Rosso Polare’s upcoming album Campo Amaro - out 12 July, 2024
If you have the ability to say “no” to activities, projects, or events that you genuinely do not want to participate in, saying no.
Andrew Weathers’ mixing and mastering services
Adam Badí Donoval’s mixing and mastering services
Telling your partner that you love them even if you are tired or grumpy in the moment. It makes a difference.

Upcoming from me:
sentiment vinyl back in stock, this time in a pinkish color aptly named “light spotting”
Performances in Los Angeles and Chicoutimi
A digital yard-sale of most of my studio equipment. I have not decided the best medium for this but I am pairing down, moving studios, and trying to start fresh (minus a few essentials).
June’s mixtape via my monthly Bandcamp subscription
A much needed social media break :)
